(*) A well-known place in Brussels South railway station (“gare du Midi”, “Zuid Station” where I used to have my morning coffee and observe.. ;)

Storyline : Boy meets Girls. Everyday, same time, same place.

Geert : And come to think of it, the thematic similarity with Billy Paul’s “Me and Mrs Jones” didn’t strike me until recently - probably because this one came out of a real life observation...
My morning coffee was sometimes the only highlight of the day, gathering my courage to get to work sometimes took a lot of efforts.

Initially, this song was written as a potential Eurosong entry. I presented it to singer Chitral “Chity” Somapala during the summer of 2003, when he was just releasing the first Faro album “Dawn Of Forever”. He was quite interested in the song, but the rules to participate for Eurosong in Germany changed, and we discarded the idea. I kept the song aside and proposed it to a Belgian publishing company who thought it was too old fashioned. When BTL was recording “Signs”, I had the feeling that none of the band members were really behind it, so a little push to get it on the album was needed. Eventually we agreed that it was going to be, together with “In Perpetual Motion” one of the 2 extra songs with a background

Filip had to redo the drum takes because we’d never ever rehearsed the song with the band, Bart nailed the bass parts (he has always been a very good alround musician) that could get quickly to the vibe of the song) and I ended up playing the piano -Styx’ Babe like electric Piano sound et al -, keyboards and guitar parts - with a solo on spanish guitar, a sound that has captivated me ever since Peter White played the “On The Border” guitar solo on Al Stewart’s “Year Of The Cat”. Jo took some time to get into the song but laid down a great performance.

Often people ask us when we’ll ever perform this song live (answer : don’t know, but ask me and I’ll play the piano part), and it is, after “Media Vision” and “In Flanders Fields”, the 3rd most downloaded song from “Signs” on iTunes....
