Between September 11th 2018 and October 23rd 2018, Beyond The Labyrinth have released 66 tracks on Digital platforms including Spotify, Google Play, Deezer, Apple Music and iTunes, Tidal and more.
In 2008, Beyond The Labyrinth was one of the first Belgian bands to provide digital delivery through (a.o.) iTunes, Napster etcetera.
The first BTL single on iTunes was “Time To Fly” (beginning of november 2008) . In 2011, due to yearly renewal costs exceeding the income, the decision was made to retract every release that was not self-supportive. By the time “Ghost Melody” came out in 2015, it was the only available digital offering as the rest of the releases had long been retracted.
With the 2017 album “The Art Of Resilience”, demand from the fan base came to not offer the music on CD only and the band turned to find a different digital provider with perpetual licensing (and better author’s rights management !) and turned to www.emubands.com (*)
On September 11th, the 2005 “Signs” album was digitally rereleased including bonus material(totaling 16 tracks).
Between then and October 23rd, the Albums “Castles in The Sand” (2008, 17 tracks including bonus material), “Chapter III - Stories” (2011, 20 tracks including bonus material), “Virtual Collection” (9) and the E.P. “Under Cover” (4) followed, making it a solid release of 66 tracks in 6 weeks.
“Virtual Collection” regroups the several non-album singles the band have released between 1997 and 2015, with gems like “Wings”, “Healer”, “Shine”, Shades Of Blue”, Ghost Melody” and more.
“Under Cover” (**) features 4 rather obscure cover recordings in proper Beyond The Labyrinth style, including the much-praised cover of Pendragon’s “Paintbox” (2004) and the spoof version of local hit “Ik Hou Van U” (2012), originally by Noordkaap
Both “Virtual Collection” and “Under Cover” are digital-only releases.
